A fully ownedoperating system.
Defcor needed a complete business operations platform — fully owned, self-hosted, with zero vendor dependency.
Zero vendor dependency. Complete data control.

Before
The challenge
Defcor's operations were running across a patchwork of SaaS tools — each with its own pricing, data silo, and lock-in. The cost of that fragmentation was growing.
Leadership needed a unified operational view and complete data ownership.
The work
What we built
A white-label business operations platform, self-hosted at app.defcor.us.
Full role-based access control with Google SSO, a complete operational dashboard, and the flexibility to extend without asking a vendor for permission. A fully owned stack with zero vendor dependency.
The approach
How it's engineered
Next.js 16 + TypeScript for the application layer. SQLite in WAL mode for the database — fast, reliable, and zero-ops. Full RBAC implemented from scratch with Google SSO integration.
Caddy as the reverse proxy for clean, automatic HTTPS. Every architectural decision optimized for ownership and long-term control.
Outcome
The result
Live at app.defcor.us. Full RBAC across the organization. Complete data ownership with no SaaS fees for core operations.
Infrastructure that Defcor controls entirely.
Technologies & Architecture
Zero vendor dependency. Complete data control.
